So what is the story behind Travel for Difference?
Well, for as long as I can remember travel has been my number one goal in life. I literally live to travel, work to travel and breathe to travel. And at first it was simply just that; I wanted to see the whole world, even if it took me my whole life to do it. It was the one thing that I know I would feel disappointed about if I didn’t at least give it a try.
I really am “homesick for every country” and recently all of my plans in life have changed.
I’m basically a woman from Melbourne, Australia whose idea behind life was dramatically influenced by 4 things…
1 – Youtube
Whenever I have spare time I’m watching youtube. There are a few people that I watch on a daily basis that have really inspired me to believe that you do not have to live a 9-5 lifestyle to be successful.
One person, in particular, is Fun for Louis. A person who literally travels the world and documents his life and who is a massive inspiration to me. I have always felt that if I can see the world as beautifully as he does, and experience amazing things in a similar compassionate way, my life would definitely be successful.
Money does not buy my happiness and I don’t think it ever will.
2 – India
The most beautiful, heartwarming, influential country I think I will ever visit.
Before India, most of the places that I visited were really quite established (capitalist societies), so nothing could have prepared me for how it would impact my outlook on life. The things that I saw will be in my mind forever, and this is the point where I knew I wanted to try and make a change.
3 – Ross Kemp
If you don’t know who Ross Kemp is.. well, you should!
He’s a huge inspiration to me. He travels the world and creates documentaries about the serious issues around the globe that we most likely have absolutely no idea about. Majority of the episodes I watch leave me in completely in shock and disbelief at the things I’m completely unaware of in this world.
Imagine if we knew about all the real things that go on behind closed doors. We’d be far more open-minded I’m sure.
4 – Ellen
I think everyone knows who Ellen DeGeneres is; I don’t think much needs to be said about her. “Be kind to one another” is something we all should live by.
So.. This is where I come in!
A combination of these things have pushed me to create Travel for Difference. A place where you can follow me around the world from the comfort of your own home, and be inspired by the things that continuously inspire me.
My ultimate goal is still to travel the world sustainably, but to hopefully also influence you and impact your thoughts on the way. I want to show you that there are issues that we are ignoring; whether that be how we treat each other, how we treat our planet or how we treat ourselves. I’m here to show you.
I’m not sure what’s going to come in the future… cough-cough Antarctica?
But I know I’m incredibly excited!
