NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS 2018
As 2017 has officially come to a close, it’s time to now set some goals for 2018!
I used to loathe New Years Resolutions; I thought they were tacky and a set up for failure, but now… I’ve come to love them.
My views have completely changed from what they once were, to now strongly encouraging the hype. To me, setting realistic, achievable goals is nothing short of amazing, especially if they motivate you to be the best person you can be!
Sure, a lot of people don’t stick to their goals further than the second week of January, but I personally try my best to turn them into a reality. So, here are my New Years Resolutions for 2018. And in all seriousness… Let’s make this year the best one yet!
Travel more of Australia
Australia is my home! I’ve lived here my entire life and somehow I’ve barely even scratched the surface of its beauty.
In 2018, I want to make it my mission to explore more of my home country – Enjoying your home city as if you were a tourist is difficult, no doubt, but it’s so important to realise that you don’t have to travel far in order to experience beautiful destinations!
Do Charity Work
In 2017 I donated a lot of money to those in need, but this year I want to donate more of my time. Whether that be at local organisations, charity work at Christmas time, volunteering with local wildlife organisations or whathaveyou… I think it’s so important to help at not-for-profits in the local community, and this year it’s my time to do so!
Finish my House
I’m currently in the process of renovating a house and although I know that it’s going to be completed in 2018, it’s still one of my biggest goals! I want to spend some time really decorating and making this little space a place that I truly love.
Reach 10K Instagram Followers
Right now this seems like quite a long way off, but I managed to reach 3600 followers from nothing, without putting in any effort. In 2018, I’m going to really try and improve my photography and create a little Instagram community – Come and join me!
Find a Better Work Balance
Being able to switch off from work is one of my biggest struggles. I’m constantly working, looking at my phone and staying up way longer than the average working hours to keep on top of my blog.
Although I do really love my job, this year I want to be better at time management and confine myself to a certain number of work hours per day (for the most part).
Having a good balance between work life and normal life is super important, especially when you work from home.
Do more Yoga
I absolutely love yoga; the way it relieves stress, rejuvenates my body and really clears my headspace. I used to do it quite a lot before I got badly injured and it all fell down the drain. I want to get back into the swing of things and make yoga a daily ritual!
As I’ll be moving into my own home this year, I want to make it a priority to live as sustainably as possible. Being kind to the environment has been a massive part of my everyday life for the last year or so, so I know it’s going to be something relatively easy to achieve…
I can’t remember the last time I personally used a plastic bag, so I hope I’m on the right track!
Go on more Adventures
In 2018, I want to spend more time going on small adventures; exploring local places that I’ve never before seen, going on hikes, finding secret locations and enjoying the little things in life.
I’ve realised that I rely a lot on travelling overseas to fulfil my need for adventure, but that should never be the case. There are so many amazing ways to liven up a boring day!
Be Kind to those that are Unkind
Being kind is the most important thing in life – That’s all there is to it!
Even if you’re not a lover of New Years Resolutions, making sure that you’re being a person that you’re proud of is something that we all should aim for. Remember to be kind to those that are unkind, make your happiness a priority and be unapologetically you! ♡
